Dr. Jennifer Thomas is Co-director of the Eating Disorders Clinical and Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Thomas’s research and clinical work focus on restrictive eating disorders and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, a disorder in which individuals struggle to eat enough volume or variety of food due to sensory sensitivity, lack of interest in eating, or fear of adverse consequences. The clinical assessments and cognitive-behavioral treatment that she has developed to support individuals with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder are currently used in all 50 states, across four continents, and have been translated into several languages.
